Ashok Leyland just keeps on trucking. Founded in 1948, the company is one of India’s leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles such as trucks and buses, as well as defense and emergency vehicles. 

Ashok Leyland also makes engines for use in generator-set or marine applications. Future plans for Ashok Leyland call for setting up a used-truck trading company and providing fleet-management services. Hinduja Group, an India-based investment firm, is one of Ashok Leyland’s largest investors.
